February 2, 2026

The 2026 Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance selection season is now underway. Between mid-February and early March, the Lab is bringing together its members across Latin America and the Caribbean, India, Brazil, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Philippines, with regional selection meetings feeding into a final Global meeting in London.

Across this process, Lab members will vote to select the 8 ideas that will be incubated in the 2026 Lab cycle. The scale of this year’s selection reflects unprecedented demand: the Lab’s 2026 Call for Ideas received a record 1,171 applications, a 250% increase from 2025.

The selection season begins virtually in Latin America and the Caribbean, with two meetings on February 17 and 19 covering both mitigation and adaptation streams. From there, the process moves to India, with an in-person selection meeting in New Delhi on February 23, hosted at The Claridges hotel. Then, the Brazil panel meets on February 24 at BTG Pactual in São Paulo.

On February 25, the Lab will convene its Philippines regional panel, followed by the Asia-Pacific meeting on February 26, both held virtually. Also on February 26, the Africa Lab will meet in Cape Town at the Africa Green Economy Summit (AGES), which will run two streams in 2026: one focused on mitigation and another on sustainable agriculture, delivered in partnership with the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC).

All regional discussions feed into the Global selection meeting on March 6 in London, hosted by DLA Piper. Over the course of a full day, Lab members from across the world will vote to select the 8 solutions that will form the Lab’s 2026 cohort. The results are expected to be announced the following week.
