San Francisco, 19 October 2026 – The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance has extended the deadline for its 2027 Call for Ideas to October 25, 2026, giving climate finance innovators an additional week to submit their proposals.
The Lab is seeking five innovative financial vehicles across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Brazil, India, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Selected teams will receive seven months of intensive technical support, expert guidance, and market validation to help bring their ideas closer to implementation.
What kind of ideas is the Lab looking for?
The Lab seeks early-stage financial vehicles designed to mobilize private capital for climate action in emerging markets. Proposals should address a clear market barrier and introduce an innovative financial mechanism to overcome it.
Ideas don’t need to be fully developed to apply. Applicants should be able to explain how their proposed vehicle would work, but key elements of its design can still be refined through the Lab’s incubation process.
The first step is a preliminary application, due October 25. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application later in the selection process.
Join our final informational webinar on October 22

Review the eligibility criteria and apply by October 25, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
