The UK government has announced GBP 720,000 in funding for the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance to support a new regional program in Latin America and the Caribbean featuring a new Lab stream targeting high-integrity forests. The Lab will open its 10th Call for Ideas in mid-October later this year.

Along with the United States and German governments, the UK was one of the three founders of the Lab in 2014, along with the United States and German governments. The UK government also supports the Lab’s Brazil program.

The new funding for the Lab aiming to leverage further private investment is part of a broader package leveraging GBP 160 million in climate support for developing countries.
