Lab alum CoolPact Capital is gaining recognition for its innovative approach to financing sustainable cooling technologies in India. In a recent conversation with ImpactAlpha, the Lab proponent JP Moscarella shared how the team, which includes Joyita Mukherjee and Alan Miller, is tackling rising heat risks by backing scalable cooling solutions for the Indian market.

As part of the Lab’s India program and the Lab’s 2024 cohort, CoolPact is developing a blended finance fund to back growth-stage companies working on energy-efficient cooling, refrigeration, cold chains, and other technologies that strengthen climate resilience while reducing energy demand. Since participating in the Lab, the team has built a pipeline of 15 promising investments and is fundraising for its first USD 100 million fund.

As extreme heat becomes an increasingly urgent challenge in India and beyond, CoolPact’s progress demonstrates how Lab alumni are translating innovative climate finance ideas into investment vehicles that can mobilize capital at scale.
