Amazônia Viva has completed its second loan cycle, raising BRL 26.5 million (USD 4.88 million) with 100% repayment. Launched in 2022 by Natura, VERT, and FUNBIO, the fund blends repayable and philanthropic capital. It’s based on the Amazonia Sustainable Supply Chains Mechanism concept developed during the Lab’s 2021 cycle.

Aiming to strengthen the Amazon bioeconomy, Amazônia Viva supports local communities by providing accessible financial solutions that are often unavailable through traditional credit systems. The program has demonstrated its ability to meet the real needs of the population, as evidenced by the continued interest from cooperatives that have already accessed credit.

This achievement highlights the effectiveness of the model, which integrates financial inclusion, environmental conservation, and sustainable economic development. With the continued support of partners such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a Lab member, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Amazônia Viva is poised to expand its impact and further strengthen the sustainable development of the Amazon region.
