About
Accelerating Sustainable Public Lighting Africa is a rent-to-own delivery model that accelerates the installation of sustainable public lighting by overcoming financial barriers in areas that do not have resources to initiate street lighting at all. Through Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), the model finances, installs, owns and manages sustainable public lighting. Once established, lighting systems can be transferred over to municipalities, fostering ownership of revenue-generating assets, as well as providing longer productive hours, safety and security, development of the local renewable sector and reduced intrusion from grid-extension.
